Brother Jimmie Perry, age 83 of Gum Springs, AR, slipped into the Lord’s heavenly embrace on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Brother Perry was born on December 4, 1932 the son of the late Raymond and Emma Perry. He was the former mayor of Gum Springs, AR for 8 years, a retiree of the International Paper Company and alumni of Peake High School class of 1953. Brother Perry was a member and a deacon of West Gum Springs Church of God in Christ where he served faithfully for 60 years.

Those gone on before him include: his wife, Beatrice Perry; parents, Raymond and Emma Perry; Step Father, Henry Johnson Sr.; daughter, Antoinette Bonds; two sisters, Brenda Grigsby and Mabel Jeffrey and one brother, Harold Redmon.

Those left to cherish his memory are: four daughters, Janice Smith (Benjamin)of Wynne, AR, Cynthia Benjamin (Jeffrey) of Rochester, NY, Karen Jordan-Jesse (Thaddeus) of Carrollton, TX and Tracy Smith of Sherwood, AR; two sons, Mark Jordan of Hot Springs, AR and Felton Jones of Gurdon, AR; two sisters, Emma Wingfield (James) of Gum Springs, AR and Ida Brown of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Henry Johnson of Smithton, AR and Roy Johnson (Jo Ann) of Jacksonville, AR; one brother in law, Hura Grigsby of Hot Springs, AR; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, AR. The service will be Friday, November 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. at West Gum Springs Church of God in Christ located in Gum Springs, AR. Elder James Banks is Pastor and will serve as eulogist. Visitation will be at Mitchell Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Family Hour will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the JoAnn community.
