William Bentley Sutton, 95, passed from his earthly life to join his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 21, 2017. He had served as a minister for over 50 years. The Lord and church work were his passions. He graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and retired after serving at Landmark Baptist Temple and Park Street Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.

William served his country as a Technical Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a Waist Gunner and flew 33 missions over Europe.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 74 years, Thelma Combest Sutton; children, Linda (Randall)Brown, Dale (Christine) Sutton; five grandchildren, Tina (Jack) Mineo, Vicki (Brandon) Helbert, Randa (Jonathan) Blackley, Lisa (David) Morrow, Alexander Sutton; ten great grandchildren, Kaylin (Tayler) Ervin, Taylor, Madison, Savannah and Jackson Mineo, Zachary Helbert, Andrew and Samuel Blackley, Joshua and Helana Morrow.

The family will receive friends at Friendship Baptist Church Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 4pm - 6pm. Funeral services will be held at the church on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11 am with Pastor Randall Brown, son-in-law of Mr. Sutton, officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
