Peggy Shannon Maynard, age 63, of Pikeville, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was a retired store clerk and had been a member of the Owsley Freewill Baptist Church for 46 years.
She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on October 4, 1944 a daughter of the late Winfred Lee "Doc" Hunt and Vessie Mae Keathley Hunt.
She was preceded in death by her father, Winfred Lee "Doc" Hunt on December 8, 1989 and by her mother, Vessie Mae Keathley Hunt on August 2, 1990, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Hunt and Cledis Riley and four sisters, Dollie Hunter, Mollie Phillips, Bernice Hunt and Burnett Hunt.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, William Harold Maynard and three daughters, Sherry Parsons and her husband Barry of Little Mud, KY; Diann Leslie Hollyfiend and her husband, Thomas of Pikeville, Kentucky and Katrina Maynard of Pikeville, Kentucky.
Three brothers, Clinton Hunt of Harrodsburg, Ky., Linzie Hunt of Taylor, Michigan and John D. Hunt of Cave Run, Kentucky and two sisters, Mattie Carter of North Carolina and Carolyn Sue Patton of Pikeville, Kentucky.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, T.J. Hollyfield, Amanda Hollyfield, Zach Parsons, Kyle Colley and Sara Colley.
Peggy will be sadly missed by her family, loved ones and many friends.
