Dale A. Covey, 58, passed away October 2, 2007.
He was born June 24, 1949 in Akron. Dale graduated from Green High School in 1967 and from Kent State in 1972, receiving a degree in Elementary Education. He taught 28 of 30 years in the Manchester Schools, retiring in 2002. Dale loved Eels Lake, Ontario, Topsail Island, N.C., and recently traveled to Germany, South Africa, Italy, and Ireland. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and woodworking.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, Bob Covey. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jan; mother, Betty Covey; daughters, Robin (Nathan) Witkowski and Ginger (Marcel) Hohl; brother, Darryl (Cheryl); nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd., on Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 3 to 8 p.m. Memorial services will be held Monday, October 15 at 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 263 E. Mill St., Akron, OH 44308, with Rev. Lynn Snider officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, in memory of Dale.
