Mrs. A.G. Lain, 97, of 1306 Cornelia died Wednesday at 3:15 a.m. in a Leonard nursing home.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Ray Hennigh officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Born July 12, 1885 in Cooper, she was the daughter of George and Martha Franklin Jordan. She was married to A.G. Lain March 1, 1902 in Greenville. Mrs. Lain was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Orme Bible Class.
Surviving are sons, George Lain and Wendell Lain, both of Fort Worth; daughters, Mrs. Carl Shanks of Greenville, Mrs. Thomas Brown of Dallas and Mrs. Howard Elledge of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her husband and sons, Louis, Norris and Wilbur Lain.
Pallbearers will be Hewitt Moseley, Jimmy McClain, James Taggart, O.K. Overall, David Williams, Parks Goodwin, Walter Goodwin and J.R. White. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. W.P. Phillips (sic), Dr. James W. Davis and members of the Williams Bible Class of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
