BEATTYVILLE, KY – 28 Apr. 1999 – Maynard I. "Tom" Brewer, 77, passed away Wednesday, Apr. 28, 1999, at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY, due to a motor vehicle accident. He was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Owsley Co., KY to the late Walter & Lizzie Stidham Brewer. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic with the Kentucky State Department of Highways & a U. S. Army veteran having served in World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie M. & Robert Hugh Brewer, both of Beattyville, KY; four daughters, Sarah Sue Palmer, Gertie Mae Katzenmaier, Tracy Jane Brewer, & Jennifer Lynn Sparks, all of Beattyville, KY; 14 grandchildren & eight great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Naomi Botner, of Sturgeon, KY.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Tirey Brewer; a son, Tommy Brewer, & a daughter, Vicky Rose Moore.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Crabtree officiating. Burial was in the Botner Cemetery on Sturgeon with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
