77, of Louisville, formerly of Bedford, Trimble County, KY. died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at his home.
He was a 1957 graduate of Trimble County High School where he ran track and cross country. He was proud to have been chosen to serve at the marine barracks in Washington, D.C. where he was on the silent drill team and a guard to the president. He was a retired firefighter from the Louisville fire department.
Survivors include his daughter, Tracy (Francis Schmitz); grandson, Ben Jackson; brother, William (Jane) Jackson; niece, Julia Jackson. His parents, William and Hazel McCutchen Jackson; his son, Tom Jr.; and granddaughter, Jordan Jackson, proceeded him in death.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dale Haller and the staff at Louisville Pulmonary Care for their support in his battle with COPD. His friends and friends of his family are invited to a celebration of his life at The Clifton Center, 2117 Payne St., Louisville, Sunday, Jan. 29, from 1-5 p.m. There will be a short memorial at 3 p.m. Burial will be held 11 a.m., Jan. 30, at Bedford Cemetery in Trimble County. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Salvation Army.
