Edward A. Ahlheim, 77, died Aug. 23, 2007, from complications from cancer, at his home in Apple Valley. He resided in Apple Valley for 20 years.
Ed was born Nov. 28, 1929, in Maywood to Otto and Eva Ahlheim. He had seven brothers and two sisters, three of whom have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jane, of Apple Valley; daughter Doris Clay of Banning; daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Charles Curtis of Reno, Nev.; daughter Norma Brown of Barstow; son and daughterin-law Tony and Debra Ahlheim of Anaheim; new stepdaughter Kristi Forrest of Clarksville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Ed was employed by Blue Diamond-Sulley Miller in Southern California for 36 years. He was a superintendent for seven asphalt plants.
He served in the army in Korea, was a lifetime member of the VFW, was an officer in the Elks and a member of the Eagles. Ed touched many hearts with his help and kindness. Vic Von will play his favorite songs after the memorial. Services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 13 at the Elks Lodge, 2646 E St. in Hesperia, with officers of BPOE officiating. Desert View Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
