Mrs. Hughes was born in Pitts, Ga. to the late W. C. McDaniel and Myrtle Pate McDaniel. Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Tommy Hughes of Cordele, daughters Tricia (Bill) Gilliam of Cordele and Kay (Duane) Massey of Cordele, brothers Jimmy McDaniel and his companion Christine of Hawkinsville and Johnny (Mary) McDaniel of Tifton, sisters Wilma (Bill) Plummer of Cordele and Betty (Bud) Kemp of Sylvester, grandchildren Wesley Jackson and his fiance Samantha Dorough, Lara Leigh Massey, Jordan Gilliam and Tanner Massey and several nieces and nephews.
