He was the son of Joseph R. and Julia DeVoe Ludden. On January 7, 1893, he married Susan J. Coleman, in Ilion where he spent the greater part of his life.
He is survived by three sons, Dr. Wallace Ludden and Frederick C. Ludden, both of Rome; Daniel Erle Ludden and one daughter, Mrs. D.E. Adams, Ilion; six grandsons and three granddaughters.
