Eleanor Mae Rindt died January 19, 2017. Eleanor was born in Abilene, Kansas on October 17, 1935, a daughter of the late Lottie Eleanora (Kauffman) and Walter Daw Lay.
On March 11, 1956, Eleanor married Charles L. Rindt in Wilsey, Kansas.
Eleanor worked for the Morris County Treasurer’s Office, Fairmont Creamery in Council Grove. She was a cashier at Gibson’s, a receiving clerk for Montgomery Wards, a school bus driver for Salina Transit and worked in the USD 305 school lunch program. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina.
Survivors included her husband, Charles L. Rindt; daughters, Beverly K. Rindt, of Salina, and Janet L. Dowson, of Great Bend; sons, Robert D. Rindt, of Salina, Larry C. Rindt of Salina, and Brian E. Rindt, of Auburn; sisters, Virginia K. Wigle of Council Grove, and Phyllis J. Anderson of Council Grove; brother, Clinton L. Lay of Wichita; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Gilbert and Rolland Lay; and a sister, Laverna Leeson.
