He was born on March 29, 1941 in Washington DC, and received his education there at St. Francis Xavier School and St. John's College High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mt. St. Mary's College and his DDS from Georgetown University School of Dentistry, Class of 1967. This was followed by service in the USArmy Dental Corps at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
He practiced General Dentistry for almost 40 years in Ft. Washington, MD, where he resided. He retired on disability and moved to Alexandria, VA, where he lived until his death.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Linden McCarthy Lynn, three sons, Daniel (Elizabeth), Kevin (Stacey) and Michael (Erica) and one daughter, Mary Ann Larson (Lonn) and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and three siblings.
Dr. Lynn was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Psi Omega professional Dental fraternity, the American Legion, and a former member of the American and the Maryland State Dental Associations. He also was a member of the Buckley Club at St. Francis Xavier Parish in his youth and a long-time member of St. Columba Parish in Oxon Hill.
