Gerald L. Kray, age 81, of Butler passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at DeKalb Health in Auburn.
Mr. Kray was born in Bradley, Illinois to Herman and Rhoda Kray.
He married his wife Doris in August of 1963 in Delphos, Ohio.
Mr. Kray studied engineering at both Lewis College in Lockport, Illinois and the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois. He then studied advanced math, switching circuitry and pulse techniques. Finally, he studied business administration at both IPFW and St. Francis University.
He worked at Magnavox, Raytheon and Philips in Fort Wayne for a total of 31 years. He also planned, planted and managed the Kray Apple Orchard. He was a member of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed photography, ice skating, Ham radio and gardening. Mr. Kray was a caring and devoted husband and father.
Survivors include: His wife; Doris Kray of Butler; Daughter; Donna Kray of Boston, Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Norma Berns and Shirley Offenbecker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Auburn Church of the Nazarene, 2301 Main Street in Auburn. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church.
Additional visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center Street in Auburn.
Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Doug Thomas.
