Eda Elizabeth Striegel was born Sept. 23, 1904, in Harper, Iowa, to Henry and Mary (Besser) Striegel.
She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. Eda Elizabeth Striegel married Albert Louis Nahrgang on May 23, 1926, in Harper, Iowa. He died Aug. 23, 1994.
Before her marriage to Albert, she taught school in the rural Harper and Sigourney, Iowa, areas. She and her husband owned and operated the former Nahrgang's Market in Davenport for more than 25 years. They retired in 1962. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Retail Grocers Association and Daughters of Isabella and a former member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to Assumption High School, Our Lady of Victory or St. Paul the Apostle Building Fund.
Survivors include a daughter, Charleen Shipman, Arlington, Texas; daughters and sons-in- law, Carma and Chris Oswald, Oxnard, Calif., and Maryl-Lee and Art Larson, Davenport; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; and a daughter, Janice Nahrgang, Feb. 6, 1996.
