Elouise Lucille Effinger-Clunn, 81, of Indianola, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at a local nursing center in McAlester. Lucille was born to Rueben and Grace (Thrasher) McKee on July 21, 1935, in Eufaula. She graduated from McAlester High School. Lucille married Clayton Effinger on May 10, 1952. She worked as a seamstress for Elsings and then as a nurses aid and a certified medication aid at Blevins Retirement Center until retiring in 1992. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Lucille was a member of Choate Prairie Baptist Church. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Grace McKee; her first husband, Clayton Effinger, in 1988; second husband, Arlis Clunn, in 2002, and sons-in-law, Jack McKee and Mike Tabers. A family directed memorial service will be held at a later date. A special thank you to the staff of Mitchell Manor for their care of Mrs. Clunn. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
