Anna D. Cannon, age 93, of Oakland, passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Friday, May 18, 1923, in Swanton, daughter of the late Gilmore and Linna (Waters) DeWitt.
Anna graduated from Oakland High School in 1942. She was the first woman school bus driver in Montgomery County, where she worked for almost 30 years.
She was a member of Lakeside Assembly of God Church. She loved her church, family and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Robert) Weikel of North Port, Fla., Sharon (Jerry) Martin of Gettysburg, Pa.; four sons, Lawrence (Mary Ellen) Winters of Clearville, Pa., Vincent Winters of Oakland, George (Lisa) Cannon of Olney, Michael (Bea) Cannon of Louisville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dixie Wardrop of Frederick, and Linna Krisman of Damascus.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence A. Winters (1960) and second husband, Frank Cannon (1994); two children, Monica Shorb (2003) and Johnny Cannon (1984); five sisters, Martha Peabody Winnifred Bowers, Irene Gibson, Virginia Neach, Joan Cupp and four brothers, Elwood DeWitt, Robert DeWitt, William DeWitt, and James DeWitt.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Lakeside Assembly of God, 18012 Garrett Hwy., Oakland, with the Rev. Dennis Caton officiating.
Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.
