Mr. Lewis Lesesne Scott, age 86, husband of Joyce Garner Scott of Moore, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Scott was born in Union, SC on March 10, 1930 a son of the late E. Dean Scott and Colleen Fowler Scott. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College and retired as Vice President of Packaging and Specialty Papers, Inc. Mr. Scott was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years are one daughter, Nanette S. Hughes and husband Keith of Moore; one son, Lesesne Scott and wife Libby of Jonesville; one sister Sara Kauffman of Michigan; five grandchildren, Julie Anna Hughes, Jennifer Harrell and husband Zachary, Walter Hughes, Zachary Hughes, and Anna Scott; and three great grandchildren, Kennedy Hughes, Nora Harrell and June Harrell. He was predeceased by one sister, Marian S. Coker.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017 at St. James United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Wayne Smith. Burial will be at 4:15 PM at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Jonesville, SC.
Active pallbearers will be Larry Mahaffey, Calvin King, Orin Garner, Zachary Harrell, Walter Hughes, and Zachary Hughes.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 2:45 PM prior to the services at the Church.
