Becky Alexander of Borger, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Amarillo, Texas.
She was born July 3, 1939 in Borger, Texas to George Ralph and Mildred (McCullough) Newby. She was married to David Alexander, Sr.
Becky was a librarian for the public library, where she led a very successful reading program for children. She was actively involved in Boy Scouts. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand. Her most pleasurable moments in life were spent loving and caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Alexander, Sr.; a brother, George Newby and a sister, Barbara Smith.
Survivors include 4 sons: David and wife Edna Alexander, Jr.of Amarillo, Dennis and wife Becky Alexander of Borger, Douglas and wife Sherri Alexander of Amarillo and Mike and wife Carrie Smith of Borger; a sister Betty Newby; 15 grandchildren: Jeffery, Jennie, Jonnie, Jody, David, Daniel, Roxanne, Madison, Eric, Brian, Lashella, Shawn, Michael, Whitney and Brenna; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild and her numerous friends.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 1:00pm at Highland Park Cemetery, Borger.
She will lie in state at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, Borger on Sunday, January 22, from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm and Monday, January 23 from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm.
Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors, Borger.
