Retired U.S. Army MSGT. Frederick Douglas Washington, Sr. 74 of Autryville, NC; died Monday, Jan. 16th at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC.
Mr. Washington, born in Christian County, KY; was the son of the late Walter Washington and Millie Trice Jones Washington of Hopkinsville, KY. He was the husband of Velma Washington of the home.
He attended Christian County Public Schools in Kentucky and graduated from Addox High School in May 1961. He entered Military service on July 28, 1961, being drafted into the Army. He began a long and successful career. He was a member of Christian Light Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years and served in many areas in the church.
