Marcia Bowen Powers, age 76, of 965 Ousley Place, Macon, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon.
Born in Pinehurst, she was the daughter of the late Carl Bowen and Louise Joiner Bowen. She graduated from Pinehurst High School and Morris Business College and worked as a legal secretary for 40 years before retiring. She was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church for over 50 years and was also a member of the Rodney Browne Sunday School Class. Marcia enjoyed sewing, quilting and needlepoint but her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: Husband: Ed Powers of Macon
Daughter: Patty Stringer (Joel) of Macon
Sons: Darryl Powers of Savannah Ken Powers (Kirstin) of Bolingbroke
Sister: Kay Cason (Eugene) of Vienna
Grandchildren: Stephen Powers of Macon Jamie Rice of Byron Heather Stringer of Macon Hunter Stringer of Macon Ashleigh Powers of Bolingbroke Bowen Powers of Bolingbroke
Great Grandchildren: Peyton Rice of Byron Journey White of Byron
She was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Bowen and her son, Edward Keith Powers.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, January 19 at Highland Hills Baptist Church in Macon. A private interment for family only will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinehurst.
The family will greet friends 10 - 11 AM Thursday, January 19 at Highland Hills Baptist Church.
