Jan. 7, 1933 - Jan. 15, 2017 Matthew Andrew McGuire - A loving father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017. Matt was a lifelong resident of Mobile and Fairhope, AL.

He and his family were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Matt attended McGill High School and Springhill College. He retired from GM&O/ICG Railroad and was a sports writer for the Mobile Press Register. Matt served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Mary Garrettson McGuire and his three sons, David Andrew, Kevin Brian and Christopher Tiernan McGuire.

He is survived by five daughters, Deborah McGuire Dunaway, Katherine McGuire Catlin, Kirsten McGuire Guy, Kimberly McGuire Sewell, Bridget Lynn McGuire; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and sister, Joan McGuire Coulumbe.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 Alabama Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577. Very Rev. Paul G. Zoghby officiating. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.
