He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hughey Baldwin; his children, Donna (Don) Easterlin of Durham, NC, Samuel (Beth) Baldwin of Minneapolis, MN, Ann Spencer of Durham, NC, Donald Baldwin of Cary, NC, and David Baldwin of Elbridge, NY; Eleven Grandchildren; Thirteen Great Grandchildren; and Two Great Great Grandchildren.
Sam served in the US. Army from 1945 to 1946 earning a WWII Victory Medal. He retired from Shepard Niles in 1982 after 36 years of service. He was also employed by Central Asphalt, Texas Eastern, and Watkins Glen State Park. Sam was involved in the community in many ways including being a Cub Scout Leader, a volunteer for the Watkins Glen Fire Dept. for 20 years and a Past Exalted Ruler at the Watkins Glen B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1546. He was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen.
