Jane was born January 15, 1939 in Indianapolis, the only child of the late Fern and Glen Howe. The family moved to Brown County in 1942. Jane attended Nashville High School where she graduated in 1957.
In 1959, Jane was married to Morris Voland with whom she had two sons, Mark and Mike Voland. Morris preceded her in death. Jane married John Elmore in 1979.
Jane is survived by her husband John Elmore, three step-sons: Johnny, Allen and Jimmy Elmore, her sons Mark(Melanie)Voland and Mike(Linda)Voland, all of Nashville. She leaves behind four grandchildren: Lacey(Shay)Brazill of Columbus, Leslie(Andy)Payton of Evansville, Logan(Lydia)Voland of Nashville and Turner Voland, Bloomington.
Jane dearly loved her eight great-grandchildren and looked forward to the arrival of two new babies in the spring.
Jane loved family and home life. She enjoyed music, IU sports, holidays traveling, birdwatching and flowers. In summer, she was often found outside, riding on her John Deere tractor.
Visitation for Jane will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 11a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Rick Clayton in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Rd 135 North, Nashville, Indiana 47448. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
