Heaven received another angel, Juanita “Nita” Coleman, 77, of Fredericksburg, was called to eternal rest on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Nita, as she was known to those who knew her, was born April 17, 1939. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Williams (Honeycomb), her parents, Willie and Lillie Gordon, four sisters, Ruby Cartwright, Elizabeth Gordon, Blondine Morton, Julia, and three brothers; Irvin, John, and Wilmore Gordon. She is survived by her husband Freddie Coleman. They were united in marriage in 1991 at 221 Duke St.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted niece, Lillie Washington and her husband Clayton Washington, three brothers-in-law, Lonnie Coleman (Wendy), Samuel Coleman (Laverne), Larry Coleman (Debra), one sister-in-law; Sarah Leach and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19 at Covenant Funeral Service Fredericksburg.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 pm on Friday, Jan 20 at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), Rev. Lawrence A. Davies will deliver the eulogy. Interment will be at noon on Monday, Jan. 23 in Quantico National Cemetery.
