1933 - 2017


Norma "Jean" Poole Butts, 83, of Kuna, ID passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Sunny Ridge Skilled Nursing Care in Nampa. She was born on July 20, 1933 in Marlow, OK to Hubert Hollis Poole and Maggie Gladys Todd. Shortly after her birth her family relocated to California in hopes of finding employment during the Depression.

She met and married George Alex Butts on February 9, 1951 in the Dinuba Church of the Nazarene in Dinuba, CA. They raised 4 children: Harlan 'Dale', Kathy Lynn, Debra Fay, and Connie Sue. Jean worked for the Salvation Army for 28 years and retired on her 70th birthday in 2003 in Eugene, OR.

Jean is survived by her daughters: Kathy Lynn (David) Whaley, Debra Fay (Allan) Magee, and Connie Sue Mulalley; along with 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Harlan 'Dale' Butts (Roufs).

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Kuna Cemetery, Kuna, ID. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian, ID.
