Lina (or Lena) was the first wife of Richard B. Wells. She was the sister of the Sparks blacksmith Jacob Winkelman (note spelling difference) who homesteaded next to Richard Wells and who is buried in Morning Star Cemetery (# 58842812).

The Chandler News Publicist reported on 2 Aug. 1901 that "Mrs. Dick Wells was taken to Oklahoma City by Dr. Marshall to undergo an operation." The next it reported that the operation was for cancer and she did not survive. "She leaves a husband and two little children."

The children were John (or Jonathan) and Bonnie.
