He was united in marriage to the love of his life Helen (Midgie) Quaintance on August 23, 1955, in Red Wing, MN. She preceded him in death on April 10, 1997. Ron found comfort in his faith, becoming a deacon for his church, Living Waters Assembly of God. He was also very involved with the Royal Rangers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; taking them to church, having sleepovers and drinking root beer floats. He enjoyed making pancakes, fresh bread, squishy meat and eating ice cream. He was good at working with his hands; especially on wood projects and made many cross necklaces.
Ron is survived by his children: Ronald (Linda) Massey, Tina (William) Bartelt, Barbara (John) Abel, Edward (Carmen) Massey, Helen Massey, Mary (Tim) Gillette, Billie Jo Levick and Joy (Randy) Werner; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis (Ginger) Massey. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and 2 special grand-puppies, Jack & Lucky.
Ron was preceded in death by his parent; his siblings: Vivian (Frank) VandenBosch, Robert “Bob” Massey, Roland Massey, Leroy (Meridene) Massey, David Massey, Norma (Lawrence) Bernard and Darlene Artz; grandchild, Scott Massey and great-great grandchild, Rovell Gerard.
Funeral services for Ron will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Living Waters Assembly of God Church, New London with Rev. Gordon Lane officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Northport Ostrander Cemetery.
