Hurlbert Field - Two sergeants of the 4410th Combat Crew Training Wing at Hurlburt Field received honors for March. Technical Sergeants Willie E. Carpenter and Jack Burchett were selected, respectively, as maintenance Man and Crew Chief of the Month. Both men are from the 4410th Organizational Maintenance Squadron. They were also chosen for the same honors for the Wing.

... As Crew Chief on a Douglas A-1E Skyraider aircraft, Sergeant Burchett was cited in part, 'His extensive aircraft maintenance experience has been a valuable asset to his section. Since January 1967, his aircraft has flown 107 consecutive on time take - offs. He has also been called upon, on many occasions to act as flight chief, which he does in an outstanding manner. Also due to the heavy training requirement for the squadron mission, Sergeant Burchett spends many hours of overtime to accomplish the job and constantly insists on strict compliance with ground safety procedures and produces high quality maintenance.'"
