James Raymond Joli, age 83, of Grants Pass, Oregon, died January 10, 2017, at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

James was born November 17, 1933, in Portland, Oregon, to George and Lucille (Strong) Joli. He moved to Grants Pass in 1947. He married Neoma Baker, his wife of 64 years, on June 14, 1952.

For over 30 years, he worked with Rolf Sommers in construction until his retirement in 1996.

James was very active in many aspects of the Apostolic Faith Church his entire life. He was also a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association), RMEF (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation), and the Carpenters Union.

His hobbies included gardening, hunting, camping, music, trombone, woodworking, and many home improvement projects.

Survivors include his wife, Neoma Ruth Baker of Grants Pass, Oregon; children, Tom Joli of Springfield, Oregon, Margie Burton of Port Angeles, Washington, Ted Joli of Central Point, Oregon, Jeanne Summers of Medford, Oregon, and Amy Bowden of Medford, Oregon; sisters, Mae Loomis, Pearl Hamblin, Mary Purpuree, Betty Jackson, and Esther Ballard; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Joli; two brothers; and three sisters.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at The Apostolic Faith Church, 422 NW F Street, Grants Pass. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
