Obituary for Frances Connell
Frances E. “Fran” Connell, 96, of Coldwater, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
The funeral will be Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor La Fern Cobb from the First Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Frances was born January 2, 1921 in Coldwater, MI to Warren & Amy (Kerns) Cox. She married Clyde L. Connell in May 1950 in Grand Rapids, he preceded her in death on September 11, 2006.
Mrs. Connell was an accountant working for both Dally Tire and Nichols Accounting. In 1970, she purchased Nichols Accounting and continued to run the firm, until selling it to her daughter Marie in 1984.
Fran was a lifetime member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, where she played organ and piano. She most recently attended the Coldwater Church of Christ. Her favorite pastimes were quilting and knitting, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Fran is survived by her children Jim (Cindy) Connell of Georgia, Joe (Rhonda) Connell of Arizona, Jeff (Sharon) Connell, Caroline Lowe Christy and Marie (Denny) Wilber all of Coldwater, her sister-in-law Marge Cox of Coldwater, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter Judy Clifford, 2 brothers, Howard and Ivan Cox, and 1 sister, Lucille Lindsey.
