MARGARET COOK ENNIS

Margaret, of Charlotte, NC, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 27, 2007. She died at home where she was so loved and cared for by her loving husband of 67 years and 9 months and her daughters, V_____ and S_____, her caretaker, Denise T______, and Presbyterian Hospice for approximately two weeks.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was lovingly referred to as "Momsy" by all who loved her.
Margaret was sent to Barium Springs Orphanage at the age of eight, which she said later in life "it was one of the best things that ever happened to me". She was so organized and so disciplined. She loved children and children loved her.
Margaret had been a school crossing guard for Barringer Elementary and Park Road Schools. She had been a member of Westover Baptist Church where she served in the children's department and loved working in Bible School. Later in years she attended Calvary Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Hal and Lena Mayhew Cook; sisters Hallena (Wait) Meismer, Eloise (John) Hartline; brothers Luzon, Arnold and Billy; daughters Donna Carol Black, Diane Smith; son-in-law Eugene Scruggs; grandson Jason Scruggs; grandson-in-law Joe Overcash.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband and soul-mate Robert Sidney Ennis; her daughters V. Ennis (L____) Mc_______ and S. Ennis (B__) C_____; sons-in-law Charlie Black, W. B___, and S. S____; also 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The celebration of her life will be at Statesville Road Baptist Church, Friday, March 2, 2007, officiated by Dr. Dale Shields. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 PM; service at 2:00 PM. Interment at Forest Lawn West.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Diabetes Association, Presbyterian Hospice, or to Statesville Road Baptist Church Building Fund. McEwen Funeral Home is assisting the family of Margaret Cook Ennis.
Mother, you were so loved here on earth and now you're in the Arms of the One who loves you more. We praise God through our Lord Jesus who is the Way, who makes the Way for us to be together again. "What a Savior" as Mother would say.
