Ron Littau, 73 year old retired school Administrator, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Woodward, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Woodward Church of Christ with Randy Sherrill officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Ronald Lee Littau was born on April 17, 1943 in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to George and Alice (Kretz) Littau. Ron grew up on the family farm near Arnett, Oklahoma, with loving parents, and his cherished brother, Merlin. Ron graduated from Arnett High School with the class of 1961. In the fall of 1962, Ron enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree, in Education, in May, 1965. Later Ron received a Master’s degree in Educational Administration, from Oklahoma State University. Ron taught in Watonga, Oklahoma, for one year, then moved to Woodward, Oklahoma, where he was a teacher for 7 years. While teaching, Ron served as a state officer for the Oklahoma Education Association. The remainder of his career was spent as an Elementary Principal in the Woodward Public School System, until his retirement in May of 1997.

Ron was active in the Woodward Lions Club, the Kids Inc. Board, and was a member of the Woodward Church of Christ. As owner of the Littau Irrigation Co., Ron installed and repaired many area lawn irrigation systems.
Ron married Beverly Kae Hanan on March 1964, in Arnett, Oklahoma. To this union, 3 wonderful sons were born; Timothy Lee, Tyson Cliff, and Trey Michael. On September 13, 1984, Ron married Kay Lynn Mott in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Ron had a tireless work ethic, which was evident as a young boy living on a farm, and throughout his life. He was a well respected teacher, and as an elementary school principal as well. He was a man of many talents, such as woodworking, and restoration of classic cars. Ron was also the “go to” man by family, with his natural ability to fix and repair something that had broken. In later years, Ron enjoyed coffee, and sharing jokes with friends, at Sweet’s in the afternoon. As Ron approached retirement, and for a short time after retirement, he and Kay traveled to fun destinations with special friends and family. In January, 2012, Ron and Kay purchased a home on Grand Lake, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends that would come to visit them. As Ron’s health began to decline, he was most comfortable at home. During that time, Ron developed a fondness for the family dog, Buddy, and cat, Freddie, as they provided much needed comfort, and unconditional love.

Above all, Ron was a loyal, loving, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and was known for his generosity to his family. He also loved playing various games with his grandchildren, and although competitive, was delighted when the kids would win the game.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kay; sons, Tim, and wife, Terri Jo; Tyson, and wife, Kate, all of Woodward; Trey, and wife, Amy of Enid; grandchildren, Tanner, Tate, Cooper, and Josie of Woodward; Abby and Emma of Enid; brother, Merlin, and wife, Lee Nell of Stillwater; father-in-law, Sam Mott; brother-in-law Craig Mott and wife Leesa, all of Kiowa, Kansas; very special nephews and nieces, Jay and Danna, and Jeff and Cory Littau, and their families; Nathan and Shelley Eckert, Michelle and Zach Morgan, Bret and Jana Mott, and their families; beloved cousins, and special friends.

Preceding Ron in death were his parents, George and Alice Littau; grandparents, Fred and Mary Littau, and Fred and Mary Kretz; special aunts, uncles and cousins; mother-in-law, Mildred Mott, and beloved pets, Buddy and Freddie.
