Ray passed away peacefully at his home in Cushing, OK, on Wednesday January 18, 2017 at the age of 80. Ray Cox was born on August 4, 1936 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Tinnie Cox-Satterfield and R.A. Cox.

He loved writing songs, playing cards with family, and fixing things around the house.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J.W. Cox, James Edgar Cox; sisters, Bessie Cox-Hornburger, Beatrice Cox, Elizabeth Anne Edwards; two children, Debbie Cox and Troy Cox; and four grandchildren.

Ray is survived by his wife, Betty Cox of Cushing, OK; son, J.W. Cox and wife Sonya Cox, Tina Ratcliff and husband Chad Ratcliff, Tonya Klapp and husband Chad Klapp of Arkansas; step-son Tony Stone and wife Cathy Stone; step-daughters, Tammy Davis, Tina Russell and husband Rod Bouwman, Terry McGonigal and husband Roger, Thanya Stone and husband J.D. Benefield, Hope Martineau and husband Brad Martineau; nieces, Carol Mosley, Sherry Morgan, and Cheyenne Heatherly; nephews, Bob Cox, Timothy Edwards, Thomas Ray Bex, and James Goodwin; as well as 41 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and a beloved dog named Rosa.

Funeral services for Ray Cox will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 from 4:00 pm -6:00 pm in Cushing, Oklahoma at Palmer Marler funeral home. A Military Honors burial will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery 1423 Cemetery Road Ft. Gibson, OK.
