Leo W. Welch age 91, died at: UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, January, 10, 2017, Suddenly after a short illness. Predeceased by: father Merton Welch Sr., mother Myrtle, brothers, Max, Phil, Larry, Ed (Merton Jr.), sisters Lois (Gonzalez), Irma (LaBarre), Marylin (Galus). Survived by: wife of 68 years, Betty, Son Leon (Lee)(Patty) of Ocala, Fl. Daughter Elaine Burt of Jamesville, NY, Son Doug (Kathy) of Big Flats, NY. Cheryl Martin of Ga. Grandchildren, Stephen, Emily & Joella Burt, Gavin and Trevor Welch. Brother David, Brother-in-law Leo Paul (Speedy) Gonzalez. Several nephews, nieces and extended family members. Purple Heart recipient having served in the European theater during W.W.II. Affiliations: Maine Federated Church, Maine, NY. American Truck Historical Society, Volunteer firefighter Maine Fire Dept. for 68 years, serving many positions and offices. Broome County Antique Society, Redman Lodge, Beulah Rebekah Lodge #115, Maine Historical Society, Retired from IBM Owego, NY.
