Joe Ed Solly, age 63, died at his home in Bleakwood on Janaury 17, 2017.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyvill, Texas.

Burial will be inTrout Creek Cemetery in Newton County.

Visitation will be 5~8pm, Friday, January 20, 2017 at the funeral home.

Joe was born October 18, 1953 to Leon and Alice Solly.

He graduated from Kirbyville High School in 1972.

Joe married Rachael Talbert on July 1, 1977 in San Diego, California while visiting her brother, James, who was stationed there while in the Navy.

Joe was a loving son, brother, husband, dad, pappy, uncle and friend. He loved fishing, Harleys and fast trucks. If you saw and heard the yellow Chevy Thunder, you knew it was Joe.

Joe loved kids and coached Little League Baseball for 15 years. He was always patient and kind to his players. He loved going to the ballpark to watch his grandchildren play.

Joe is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rachael Talbert Solly of Bleakwood, Texas, his sons, Joseph and Janet Solly of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Jordan and Sallie Solly and Jesse Solly all of Kirbyville, Texas, his daughters, Victoria and Josh Boyd of Call, Texas and Ashely and Joel Viator of Mauriceville, Texas, a daughter-in-law, Ashlee Shaver of Dallas, Texas, his brothers, Charles Solly of Bleakwood, Robert Solly of Newton, Fred and Kathy Solly of Midlothian, his sister, Joyce and Dale Willis of Kountze, Texas, father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Doris Talbert of Brookeland, Texas and 17 grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Alice, his brothers, Sammy and Gerald “Bud”, his sister, Louise Folsomand,and his daughter-in-law, Janie Bruce Solly.
