Morris, Barbara Anne Szymanski Hines, of Richmond, passed away after a long-standing illness on the 14th of January, 2017 at the age of 78. She was born in Camden, NJ on the 23rd of January, 1938.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Carl Morris and her son, Robert Gene Hines, Jr. She is survived by her loving daughters, Janis Kay Hines and Cynthia Anne Stanton, her son-in-law, Christophe Stanton, and her grandchildren, Robert Gene Hines, III, Diana Lynn Hines, Brian Christopher Stanton and Adam Ross Stanton.

Barbara graduated from Glassboro High School in June, 1956 and then went on to Nursing School at the Cooper Hospital Medical Center, graduating in 1959. Later she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 1971 and then her Masters of Science in Nursing in 1976, both from the University of Pennsylvania. She was the Director of Nursing for the Greystone Program at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia for 20 years before marrying Donald on June 17, 2003 and moving to Richmond. She will be remembered by her many friends and family as a loving mother, true friend and devoted wife.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 20th, at Bliley's Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. Richmond, VA 23230. Funeral services will be held 10:00am on Saturday, January 21st, at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA. The graveside service will be held 2:00pm the same day at Spring Creek Baptist church Cemetery, Darlington Heights, VA 23958.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to the American Psychiatric Association Foundation1000 Wilson Boulevard, Suite 1825 Arlington, VA 22209-3901.
