Martina was reared in Adair County, MO, and was a graduate of Kirksville High School. After their marriage, she and Dick lived in Colorado, Texas and Florida during Dick’s military service in the Air Force. In 1960, Mr. and Mrs. Allen built, owned and operated the Bon Air Motel in Edina, MO. Martina later worked for Parson and Nunan, Inc. of Edina for a number of years, and then was employed by Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina for twenty-five years until her retirement.
