Phyllis R. (Duff) Abrams, 91, passed away May 8, 2015 at SusqueView Home where she had resided. She formerly resided in Woolrich. She was born in Sunbury March 28, 1924 to the late John and Leila Crouse Duff. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Abrams August 24, 1982. Phyllis was a 1941 graduate of Lock Haven High School and had worked at the former Hammermill Paper Co. in the clerical department. She was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church and had been a homemaker. Phyllis was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her favorite place was at her cabin in Pine Creek, where she spent every summer with family, fishing and enjoying life. She will be deeply missed by the many hearts that she touched.
Survivors include two daughters; Judith A. Kaufman of Montoursville,and Patricia (Dennis) Eldred of Lock Haven, one brother, George (Grace) Duff of Lock Haven. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Krista (Michael) Gephart, Erica Kaufman, Bradley (Tracy) Eldred, Bethann Eldred, Richard (Larissa) Bowes and Steven Bowes, nine great grandchildren: Ethan Gephart, Alexa Gephart, Isaiah Gephart, Ella Kaufman, Madeline Eldred, Chloe Eldred, Royce Bowes, Rawson Bowes and Rance Bowes. Phyllis was preceded in death by daughter, Cathy A. Bowes April 10, 2008.
Funeral Services for Phyllis R. Abrams will be held on Wednesday May 13, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Callahan, chaplain of SusqueView and close friend. Internment will be at the Linnwood Cemetery, McElhattan, PA. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted in Phyllis's name to the SusqueView Home, Alzheimer's Association, or the Clinton County SPCA, through the funeral home. Online thoughts and memories can be made at www.yost-gedonfuneralhome.com
