George J. Deasy, 86, of Scotch Plains, NJ, died on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 9:30 AM from the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave, Scotch Plains. Interment is at St. Mary Cemetery, Clark, NJ. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

George was born in Elizabeth, NJ, grew up and lived in Rahway, NJ, until settling in Scotch Plains in 2005. George served his country with the Naval Reserves for over 25 years. He was a machinist/millwright, first with Singer Manufacturing in Elizabeth, GAF in Linden, NJ, BASF in Kearny, NJ, and retired from Ogden Martin in Rahway in 2005. George loved to travel and spend time in Bermuda. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Alice in 1989.

George is survived by his beloved daughter, Ellen M. Marsan and husband, Harold, and loving grandchildren, Michael and Mary Alice Marsan.
