Homer L. Greene Jr., age 80, of Canton, died Wednesday morning at the Hanover House following a brief illness. He was born on July 30, 1922 in Canton and had resided in this area all his life. He was graduated from McKinley High School in 1939 and attended Ohio State University. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed for 50 years as a real estate agent and appraiser for the M.E. Patterson Co. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Canton Ex-Newsboys, member and past president of the Stark County Realtors Assoc., McKinley Eagles #2370 and Canton Moose Lodge #233. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Greene, in 1985; his parents, Homer L. Sr. and Kathryn Greene and brother, Max Greene. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Rutledge) Greene, to whom he was married on Aug. 9, 1990; his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Michael Hedrick of Canton; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Mary Greene of Scottsdale, AZ and James and Sue Greene of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, stepdaughter, Marsha (Bob) Coen of North Canton and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Deborah Quillen officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
