He was the son of Bert and Orpha Wilhelmina Clausen. He married Gladys Tucker on June 11, 1942, in DeKalb. She died in 1987.
Marlin was a farmer and worked as a mechanic at RC Service in Mendota for 25 years. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #4079, and a past member of Mendota Sportsman Club, American Legion, Mendota Elks and Mendota Moose.
He is survived by two sons, Kent (Colleen) of Franklin Grove and Kurt of Mendota; two daughters, Sally Clausen of Mendota and Linda (Brian Hopkins) Znaniecki of New Lisbon, Wis.; a brother, Lawrence (Shirley) of Walnut; two sisters, Alene Brandt and Doris Wester, both of Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, a sister and a great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota with the Rev. Ken Foster officiating. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery in Paw Paw.
