Robert C. Chenier, age 90, passed away November 22, 2016 in Lacey, Washington. He was born in 1926 to Del and Elise Chenier in Olympia, Washington. An 18-year resident of Chinook Apartments at Panorama City in Lacey, Robert also lived in Spokane, WA; Bandon, OR; Bremerton, WA; Ketchikan, AK; and Chicago, IL (1963-1998).

He graduated from Olympia High School (1946), earned a BA in Theater Arts at the University of Washington (1950), and did master’s work in France and at the University of Michigan. After graduating from UW, he taught drama, English, and four levels of French language at various high schools. He directed many high school plays, plus several community and semi-professional theater shows.

Robert loved anything to do with France, reading, and attending the theater, opera and symphony performances. He also loved to travel, and was a five-star level member of Holland America Mariner Society.

He is survived by nieces and many grandnephews and grandnieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Chenier, Roy Chenier; and sisters, Josephine Hale, Lucille Hershey.
