DUNCAN – Billie Lee Duncan, 78, formerly of South Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 in Zanesville.
He was born on Feb. 24, 1938 in Jeffersonville, the son of the late Edward and Mary (Hayner) Duncan.
He is survived by his brother, Gary D. (Pat) Duncan; niece, Dina (Zach) Moser; his dog, Sassy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Wilma Trenor, Amos Duncan, Clarence Duncan, Charles Duncan, Jimmy Duncan and Kenneth Duncan.
Billie retired from Southeastern where he was the janitor. You could always count on him to have Big Red gum to hand out or a quarter in his pocket for every child he ran into. He also worked at the South Charleston Shoe Heel. He was a big part of South Charleston and made many friends who called him "Silly Billy." He was an avid Red's fan and will be missed by all the people he knew and made smile.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. at INGLING WILLIAMS & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, 24 N. Chillicothe St., South Charleston, with funeral beginning at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeastern School Sports Programs in memory of Billie.
