Ilene E. Dunbar, age 82, of Huron, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her service was at 11:30 AM Wednesday, May 9th at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andrew Crandall and Rev. Barry Whipkey officiating.

Ilene E. Rundquist was born October 5, 1929, to Oscar and Jacobine Fisher Rundquist at Huron. She attended school in Huron and
graduated from Huron High School in 1947.

On March 27, 1949, Ilene married James D. Dunbar at the First United Methodist Church by Rev. O.E. Hessel.

Ilene worked for the USDA Soil Conservation Service for 27 years,
retiring in 1986. She enjoyed visiting with friends and spending time
with family. Ilene also liked gardening, reading, and playing the
piano. Ilene and Jim enjoyed fishing, attending local sporting and
musical events, and playing bridge and cribbage together.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband of 63 years,
James of Huron; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Susanna
Dunbar of Melissa, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Mark Kool of Fairfield, Iowa; and nine grandchildren, Hannah, Jason, Kyle, Sarah, Ruth, Elijah, Rebekah, Noah and Isaiah.
