Lyle was born on a snowy night in January in Clear Lake South Dakota to Elmer and Flossie Parker, their second child. Flossie’s mother helped to deliver this baby boy.

Lyle spent his formative years helping to keep the family farm running and while attending school in a one room school house in Clear Lake. Lyle served his country in the United States Army as an MP. This turned out to be a perfect fit for him because he certainly appreciated order in the ranks as well as in his family.

Lyle has wonderful siblings, Laura Freeman (Joy, deceased) of South Dakota, Arlett Shepker deceased (George, deceased) of South Dakota, Melvin Parker (Joann) of Arizona, Gerald Parker (Janice, deceased) of South Dakota, Eva Mae (Norbert, deceased) of Iowa, Keith Parker (Lucille) of South Dakota.

He met and married Lily Maxine Jenks (deceased) and had the first of his 5 children, Lyle E. Parker Jr. (deceased) and Glen James Parker (Jan) of Texas.
Later, Lyle met and married Beatrice Ann Lucas (deceased). Who, by the way, everyone absolutely adored! Lyle and Beatrice had Kevin Charles Parker (Deb) of Billings, Joel William Parker of Billings, Tamara Ann Bushnell (Brent) of Helena.

Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren kindly refer to him as Grampie. (or Grumpie depending on the day)

Lyle was involved in many unusual and exciting business ventures throughout his lifetime. His associates were always ready for a new and interesting business idea from him. They remember him fondly. He used to say, “The old money is gone, time for a new idea to make some new money!” Lyle was a lifetime supporter of the Shriners Hospital for Children by actively serving as a Shriner in the Provost Guard.
