Mabel Louise Taylor, age 81, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at her home in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Mabel was born on May 30, 1935 in Downs, Kansas. She was the eighth child of Richard and Bessie Crowson. In 1937 her family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho. Mabel graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1953. Soon after graduation, she moved to be with her sisters in Sacramento, California.

Mabel met her future husband, Gordon Taylor, in Sacramento and the two married in 1959. They welcomed their first son, Brett, into the world in 1960 and rounded out their family with the birth of their son, Gordie, the following year. She was a loving wife and mother and was very proud of her two sons.

After their children were grown, Mabel and Gordon moved to Auburn, CA, where they built a mountaintop home that became the center of many joyous events. She treasured spending time in her beautiful home and gardens, enjoying picturesque views of the Forest Hill Bridge. She more than anyone else brought her family together, and her holiday celebrations and dinner parties will remain some of the family's happiest and most special memories. Upon Gordon's declining health they returned to Twin Falls in 2004.

Mabel attended the Twin Falls Reformed Church where she treasured the Christian fellowship. She also became significantly involved with a wonderful group of friends who helped one another live life to the fullest.

Mabel is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon.

She is survived by her two sons: Brett (Kay) Taylor, of Boise, and Gordon D. Taylor, of Sacramento, CA; sisters: Edith (Leonard) Johnson, of Orangevale, CA, Agnes (Lloyd) Rieger and Margrett Anderson, both of Twin Falls, Roberta Mount, of Mt. Orab, OH, and Frances (Jim) Wallace, of Roseville, CA; brother Harold Crowson, of Boise; grandchildren: Kevin, Ryan Elizabeth, Sofia and Colette, all of Sacramento; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Ruth and Gayle Fixsen.

Please join her family for a memorial service at the Twin Falls Reformed Church, 1631 Grandview Drive, Twin Falls, Idaho, at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017.
