He was born March 5, 1928 in Newark, Arkansas to Marshall & Jennie (Overton) Crutchfield, and has lived in this area since 1952. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII, and retired from Industrial Metal Fab.
Surviving are his children, Katherine Hoover of Niles, MI; Billy Wayne Crutchfield of South Bend, IN; and Mark Leland Crutchfield of Olathe, KS; his companion of many years, Evelyn Ransbottom of North Liberty, along with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Charles Donald Crutchfield.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 So. Michigan St., South Bend. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
