Hazel Bernice Davis, 85, passed away on April 18, 2012, in Huntsville, Texas. Hazel was born in Walker County, Texas on December 5, 1926, to V.A. Davis and Minnie L.(Jordy) Davis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, V.A & Minnie L Davis; sister, Louise Spriggs; brothers, Lynn Edward Davis and wife Judy and L.V. Davis and wife June; and nephew Michael Davis.

Hazel is survived by her sisters, Marylin Davis and Betty Mott and her husband Will; numerous nieces and nephews; great- nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Huntsville High School, Hazel attended Sam Houston State University and graduated with a bachelors degree in Physical Education and Chemistry. She worked for Union Carbide in Texas City and retired in 1985. She enjoyed bowling and belonged to bowling leagues in Texas City and Huntsville. Hazel was a loving sister and aunt and was always there for her family.

A funeral service will be held Friday, April 20, 2012, 10:30 a.m., at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Adickes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery, in Huntsville. There will be a visitation Friday, April 20, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home prior to the service.
