Ernest Robert 'Bob' Decker ,age 83 of Carmichaels, Pa. went to be with the Lord on Monday January 16, 2017. He was born December 13, 1933 in Nemacolin, Pa., son of Ernest Edison Decker and Mary (Babyak-Knill) Decker. Bob married the love of his life, Mary, on September 25, 1952. He retired after working most all of his life as a Welder at Nemacolin Mine. He was and remained a life-long, active member of UMWA Bob was a member of the Faith Connection Church in Dilliner, Pa. Bob was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle and grandfather who was dedicated to his family. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, farming, birdwatching, rebuilding motors, mechanical projects, and singing in church. Bob was preceded in his death by his son, Ernest Robert 'Bobby' Decker Jr.; a grandson, David Lee Decker; sister Lois King; niece, Sharon Marie Mays; and parents. Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Elizabeth (Plichta) Decker; a grandson, Ernest Robert Decker III, of Carmichaels; a granddaughter, Wanita (Decker) Edgington of Woodsfield, Ohio; great granddaughter Cheyenne Edgington of Lexington, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Margaret Decker of St. Marys, West Virginia; a brother, Donald Decker and wife Ida Marie of Carmichaels; a sister, Beverly Plichta and husband Bill of Carmichaels; a sister, Patricia Mays and husband Arthur Jr. of Woodbine, Maryland; four nephews and three nieces and their families; as well as Robert Jones and Charles Jones of Monessen and Waynesburg who have both called him 'Pap' since they were boys. Family and Friends will be received in the Lesako Funeral Home Inc., Carmichaels, PA, Paul M. Lesako, Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Wednesday, January 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Joseph Eicholtz will officiate. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery in Carmichaels. The family gives a very special thank you to the staff of Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Hospice for the love and compassion given to their loved one.
