In 1945 he graduated from La Coste High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and American Legion Weiss-Wurzbach Post 460. During his lifetime he was employed at St. Anthony Hotel, Hondo Airbase, Alamo White Truck Service and Haby's Alsatian Bakery.
Preceded in death by his first wife Anna Dell Boehle Otto and second wife, Jeanette "Nettie" Tschirhart Otto; sisters, Christina Wurzbach and Bernice Truitt and one step grandchild. Survivors include his sons and their spouses, Douglas Otto & Lei Chang of San Antonio, Gregory & Nancy Otto of Mico; 3 grandchilden; 6 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren; step daughters & their spouses, Barbara & Paul Bolte, Vickie & Ron Ijams, Mary & Don Eichman, several nieces and nephews.
